Alberta to Italy and Back Again

One month into the summer and I can’t believe how easy it has been to move back into my “other” real life. The last nine months in Italy have slipped away into a surreal experience that feels little more than a dream among the reality of my new summer ones. My days are now filled with breaking colts and thinking about branding the calves but never really getting around to it. With the Alberta weather is as unpredictable as usual, we are at its mercy as we try to organize our work around its whimsical spirit. The fields are full of long grass, cottonwood fluff, growing calves, new foals and scores of mosquitos.

And senior year at Thacher isn’t long away.
