The end of the first semester has arrived. Finals begin tomorrow, and we leave for break in 4 days! Although it's somewhat stressful trying to study for finals and remember the equations for alpha and beta decay and who was involved in the Congress of Vienna that took place in the early 1800s, I have to admit I really enjoy finals week. One might think this week is frantic and chaotic, but I find it very relaxing. The campus is more quiet than usual, and there's a lot of unscheduled time. This provides us with the flexibility to engage in studies or athletics whenever we like. If we need a break, we can go for a run in the mountains in this ideal weather. Or we can go shoot some pool or play a game of ping pong in the Commons. Where some may find exam week confining, I find it liberating, relaxing, and a perfect way to spend the time leading up to Christmas break.
