I am Kay from Zephyr Cove, Nevada, a part of South Lake Tahoe. I’ve known about Thacher for as long as I can remember; all of my family members who attended raved about their experiences here. Since they always talked about horses and friends, I didn’t really understand that it was a school until around fourth grade!) I’d always wanted to attend and entered as a freshman; I am now a freshman again—at Colorado College.

Like best about Thacher:
My friendships with everyone: students, faculty, faculty kids, staff.

Favorite class:
AP Calculus, with Ms.Vic because she gives us exciting work to do.

People at Thacher who’ve influenced me:
Too many people to name and do justice to!

Advice for kids considering boarding school or Thacher:
If you like a well-rounded life with a fast pace and challenging academics, Thacher is a very good choice.

My experience at Thacher has been…
the best life choice I’ve made so far. It has been challenging but extremely rewarding. The community is small enough that we know every person, but big enough that we can still have our own space. I’ve formed some of my closest friendships here. I believe I will always consider myself part of the larger Thacher community.
