Stanford Says "Yes!"

Good news on the college front: I got into Stanford! I found out a few days into Christmas break, and I cried when I opened the letter, which my brother thought was weird, but it was such a relief getting into college. I felt that all the years of my hard work, especially here at Thacher, had finally paid off. Everyone keeps asking me why I’m still working so hard, but of course I can’t just start slacking off second semester. (I have to complete my Senior Exhibition and graduate!) But it’s nice not having to deal with the burden of getting into college, or worrying about my future. I’m still not sure if I’m going to go, though. I want to, because it is such a good school and I would have so many amazing opportunites in every field, but this all comes at a very expensive price. My mom isn’t so sure about the price tag on Stanford. I have to finish my financial aid application, and wait to see what kind of package they send me. I really don’t want money to be the deciding factor for my future, and I know that schools today try to avoid this as much as possible. So, Stanford’s in the air, and if we are meant to be, which I’m hoping we are, then they’ll make the money part easy for my mom and me.
