Arrival: End of Week 1

by Josephine :: Sunday September 18, 2005

Well, I have just finished my first week of senior year. At this moment I am on duty in the dorm; that basically means I have to stay in the dormitory just in case any of the girls start bleeding or dying or something. I also just finished up most of my homework for the weekend. Senior year is ridiculously awesome because all my classes I am taking of my own choice. As a result, I love each and every one. It’s a pretty sweet upgrade in terms of academic life.

Camping was just grand. I went with about 14 other students and two faculty members into the Sierras. We backpacked around, told scary stories, and ate a lot of protein bars. The highlight of the trip, however, was most definitely when it snowed on our last day at the trailhead. I just couldn’t stop myself from singing “Oh Holy Night”; the weather was just too inspirational.

Today the Senior Class (well, over half the class) took a trip to a beach up in Carpinteria. We hung out, frolicked in the waves, drank obscene amounts of sugary pop, and sharpened our seaside sports savvy. It was definitely the highlight of my weekend; it’s so nice to relax like that in the company of 35 awesome peers.
