My name is Chris and I am currently in my sophomore year at Thacher. I live in Los Angeles where I attended Audubon Charter Middle School. There, my homeroom teacher told me about the A Better Chance Program, which takes deserving inner city kids and shows them the opportunities that boarding schools can offer (including scholarships). Through this program I learned of Thacher.

Like best about Thacher
The community. I also like living with all my friends.

Favorite class
Math, because it is very productive but still a lot of fun.

People at Thacher—who’s important to you and why
Mr. Carney, my basketball coach, because he keeps me focused on my books—and we both love basketball.

Advice for kids considering boarding school Thacher in particular
Don’t be afraid of change. Whatever doubts you have will be completely over-shadowed by all the opportunities Thacher offers.
