Cleaning up Ojai

    The topic of this year's Departmental Weekend was "Sustainablity". There were many workshops to pick from including going to a local farm, watching different films, and doing some hands-on experiments. I chose to walk through Ojai picking up trash. It does not sound luxurious and I thought that the grueling three-mile walk from Ojai (where we were dropped off) to Thacher would just waste part of my day. Little did I know, it ended up being one of my favorite Thacher moments.

     There were 8 students in the afternoon workshops and then we split up into 3 smaller groups. I ended up 2 other sophomore girls, which made the day a blast. This afternoon was a way to bond with other classmates in the middle of Ojai, while cleaning it up and making it clean and enjoyable for other people.
