Looking Back

This year is passing by fast. It seems like yesterday when I first came to Thacher. The years here seem to go by very quickly, probably because you are always so busy with schoolwork, riding, playing sports, and social activities.

I can remember the first time I got on my horse last fall. I was extremely nervous because I had never ridden before. It was all strange and new to me. The Thacher community is made up of people who live all over the state, the country and the world-from everywhere, it seems. I’m from the city, full of cars, buildings, and noise. Moving to Thacher and Ojai was a whole new experience: there was silence, calmness andsurprise!-horses (It is not too often that you see someone going down the street on a horse in the city!)

But Thacher soon seems like a second home, a second family. You make many memories like falling off your horse, tripping on the tennis court, camping with your friends, picking up a lacrosse stick for the first time, going to Open Houses at the Mulligans’. I have made so many good memories in only a year and a half of being here that it is exciting to think about what might happen next.
