It’s really exiting to be back on this wonderful campus after a summer away. Camping was great; I got to go on the Lost Coast trip (in northern California) with Mr. Wales and Dr. Henry. When you think of camping on the beach you don’t think of it as being challenging, but when you walk 6 miles on sand, you do get tired. There were a total of 13 people on the trip and it was a wonderful experience—the perfect time to get to meet people and make friends.
My first week back was interesting, because I really didn’t think of myself as a sophomore. The difference between sophomore year and freshman year is the work load—but other than that, you really don’t feel any different.
I’m looking forward to learning new things this year. Like sports: I am trying tennis for the first time. So far, it’s going well!
At Thacher, it doesn’t matter whether you are good or bad: what counts is that you try.
It is great to back.
